the letter meme

i found this meme at hay’s and have just copied and pasted the instructions.

the rules for the letter meme are as follows :

you leave a comment on this post, and I’ll assign you a letter. you write about ten things you love that begin with your assigned letter, and post it at your place. when people comment on your list, you give them a letter, and the chain continues on and on.

( I know ya’ll are like, *well I ain’t commenting and getting a meme*, so as always it IS optional, let me know if you want to play.)

my assigned letter from hay?

Hmm, it has to be a *T* for Thailand!

you wanna play? just leave a comment and let me know you want a letter.  don’t let that scare you off  from commenting.  if you want to comment, but don’t want a letter – then do. comment that is.

my Ten Things That start with The letter T

1.)  Tortillas and almost any of the foods that come wrapped in one, especially of the Tex-mex variety.  or just plain with butter – that makes me happy, too.

2.)  Thursday is my absolute favoritest day of the week.  why Thursday?  well, the whole weekend is stretched out before you on Thursday.  untouched.  perfect.  waiting.

3a.)  Travel.  as in people traveling to see us.  like my mom and dad.  who will be here this coming weekend.

3b.)  Travel. as in us traveling to see people.  which we’ll be doing this summer.

4.)  Transparency. don’t go playing games with me.  say what you mean.  do what you mean. be who you are.

5.) Texas. you can take the girl out of Texas, but you can’t take Texas out of the girl.  or something like that.

6.)  Thongs. at least that’s what we called them in the olden days.  now I think flip-flop is the p.c. term

7.) Talking. what can I say?  (alot)  I’ve got the gift of gab.  I don’t think everyone thinks it’s a gift.

8.)  The Princess Bride. (yes, the T in The totally counts as starting with T since it is part of the official title and all .) “you rush a miracle man you get rotten miracles.”

9.)  Titmouse. mainly because the name makes my children giggle.  and it is a very cute bird.

10.)  Thailand. which is a good thing, since we live here and all.

  1. Great job! Very creative.

I love tortillas too. I’m even thinking of trying my hand at them.

I’ve always felt that way about Thursday too. You did a perfect job of capturing it.

I can’t believe it’s finally time for your parents to come. Have a great time. Can’t wait to see more napping pictures. 🙂

I love talking and transparency as well. I don’t have much patience for people who can’t be honest–with me or themselves.

I’m so glad you didn’t mean the ‘other’ thongs! 😉

Titmouse will make Jacob giggle in a few years, right now he’s obsessed with things like ‘But(t)ler’ University.

Mark loves The Princess Bride too. I guess I’ll have to give it a shot.

    Great list.

if you haven’t seen The Princess Bride you must! My daughter is a big fan, too. It really is a lovely film. I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to come up with 10 things, but I did manage!

  2. Hmph. You did that on purpose, didn’t you! Trying to get me to multi-comment on yer blog. You evil mom you. (grin) Oh, I don’t wanna play, I just wanna comment. Hah! (grin)
Transparency is a definite trigger word for me. I mean seriously, isn’t God the only one that can look inside our minds past all our little protective layers, conscious and otherwise, without going mad with horror? What? Is that just me? (grin)
You do know today is the last snow day?
….heh heh, she said titmouse…this entire comment was brought to you by the MTV side of the male psyche. (grin)

that’s exactly what my kids said!! except instead of she said they said, “heh heh, look what they put in this book!!” and then whispered conspiratorially amongst themselves.
I remember you and transparency have something going on. you’re right that only God can really see us, but we can try to not hide our faults and not try to be what we’re not. it’s the best way to genuine relationship.

  3. LOL. A thong is like a g-string here! I was thinking, wow, that monica is a wild one!
But yes, I love flip-flops (jandles) too.

a thong is also a g-string in the states. or really I think it’s a little different. a slightly wider strap… and I have a Kiwi friend here and I couldn’t for the life of me remember what she called flip-flops!! thanks.

  4. I love the food photography….so mouth watering. I’m all about food these days. 🙂 Well, that and I LOVE tortillas.

tortillas alone make my mouth water. yum! it’s on my list of must eats when we get back to the states. we can get them here, but…

  5. yeah, lol, we avoid the “thong” word in NZ.
    oh, movie choice?
the chocolate coating makes it go down easier. but ya have to wait at least fifteen minutes before potency. and don’t go in swimming for at least half an hour…
yep, i’m your kindred spirit X

I was so very happy when A12 decided this was one of the best movies. ever!!

    My way’s not very sportsman-like.

  6. Monica, yer gonna make me blog about transparency again. Go on, twist mah arm. Can I use that pic of the glassy peoples? It’s kewl. My thoughts on the transparency issue are changing. It’s what happens when I stare at you aliens for too long. So it’s all y’alls fault.
If God wanted people to be transparent, he woulda made em that way! OK, I’ll stop now.
Don’t get me wrong, some of my best friends are transparent. OK, NOW I’ll stop. (grin)

yeah, go ahead and use the pic… but, because I’m tranparent and all… you should know I totally stole it.

He didn’t make you transparent? I have to paint on my appearance everyday! 🙂

  7. heh heh heh heh. titmouse. heh heh heh heh. thongs. heh heh heh heh heh heh heh. heeeheeeheeee. hahahahahaha.
😀 hahahahahahahaha tufted titmouse thongs. hahahahahaha.

    you are so immature! 😀

  8. I wanna play the letter meme! It may take me a few days to come up with a suitable response, but I will respond (probably after my Germany vacation – but before school starts).

my response was several days in the making and a week or so in the not to the making phase 🙂 so no hurries… and I think a good letter for your is D – for destination unknown (but soon to be known)

  9. LOL @ a12’s comment.

Hey, maybe there’s a titmouse in Mousehunt!

yeah, who knew 12 yr olds could be so funny??
