sweet dreams are made of this

a three burner propane range with a handy dandy fold down lid/top thing.

range

yes, i know it looks like a fourth burner could fit on the stove, but i’m no propane range designer so who am i to question.  and since it has one more burner than i currently have – not to mention it’s got a stove – i’m thinking it’s beyond the bomb diggity.

and what makes this perfect is that it will fit in my soon to be kitchen and there’s plenty of room for the propane tank to sit beside it.  because where to put the propane tank is a priority in every modern kitchen design.

  1. you amaze me all the time with your acceptance of how different everything is. I’m not sure I’d be up to the challenge. I know you will love your stove/oven. What will you make first?

i’m hoping to have it in before Christmas which will mean something Christmas-y will be the first thing. if it’s after Christmas then it will be a late birthday cake for a11. i have a list of things i want to bake – could be very bad for my weight loss!

  2. a stove and oven for the new house! when is the big move? we are all kind of lonely around here since cam left today! he will be home in 2 1/2 weeks, visit went well so we cant wait! emial me and we can catch up for real.

we officially move dec 20, but we got the key today and moved sam’s new to us bunk bed over! i’ll email soon.

  3. I actually don’t think there is anything “beyond the bomb diggity.” As I understand it, that’s the awesomest–no lie. Awesomeness in its purest form, I’ve heard.

That you’d try to surpass this superlative tells me that you are most pleased indeed. I think that you are going to need to find some Mountain Dew and cook apple dumplings.

    Apple Dumplings
    2 Granny Smith apples
    2 cans crescent rolls
    2 sticks butter
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    1 teaspoons vanilla
    cinnamon
    1 small can Mountain Dew

Peel and core apples. Cut apples into 8 slices each. Roll each apple slice in a crescent roll. Place in a 9 x 13 buttered pan. Melt butter, then add sugar and barely stir. Add vanilla, stir, and pour over apples. Pour Mountain Dew around the edges of the pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Serve with ice cream, and spoon some of the sweet sauces from the pan over the top.

most pleased isn’t quite strong enough!! but i do think i could possibly finally make these. but first i need to befriend someone at the consulate. i hear they have mountain dew there. and dr. pepper. and american hot dogs. etc…

  4. I am stealing that recipe Glenn and umm, monica where you moving?

we’re moving into town – better access to all things we need access to. tell me how you like the dumplings!

  5. New stove/oven good! Apple Dumplings…yum. You definitely need to get a connection at the consulate. They have access to the good stuff…well, most of the time.

i’ve heard tale that our consulate people aren’t very sharing… that they practice the stuff at the consulate is for the consulate staff. but, i’ve also heard you just really have to be friends with the right people. who knows.

  6. Can I ask where you got this stove – I came across your site and am new to Chiang Mai…haven’t had much luck finding where to purchase one!
    thanks

we haven’t found it, yet. but that’s a fairly common design so we hope to easily find one.
