plough

because i’m just this smart.

s8: “mom, what does the word plough mean?”

me: “you mean p-l-o-w?”

s8: “no, i mean p-l-o-u-g-h.”

me: “i think that p-l-o-u-g-h might be pronounced plough (long o), you know, like dough (long o).”

s8: “well, what’s plough mean?”

me: “plough is not a word.”

luckily, my thai speaking google also knows british. because i would hate for my 3rd grader to have to tell his teacher that his mother said there was no such thing as a plough – even though we really know it’s a plow.
