if that’s what you want to call it…

we finally board our flight. 2 hours late. we’re on the ground at lax at 8:45 pm. our flight to bangkok on thai airways takes off at 9:30 pm. so we have 45 minutes to taxi in, get off the plane. get to the international terminal and check in. this doesn’t happen. and no one really wants to help us. our tickets were purchased through united. (i’ve flown united twice now and they are batting zero.) after we discover the people at thai airways aren’t all that keen on helping us, we head back to united. i won’t go into the details, but i did take a picture.

and before you say, “eww, that’s so gross, what kind of parents could let s8 sleep on the floor of the lax airport?” you should know i agree it is pretty nasty.

we’re set for standby tomorrow night at 9:30p on thai. and as much as i might not be a great big fan of united, they did come through and put us up in a hotel – for two nights.  and we’re gonna try to sleep and not worry at all about where our luggage might be.  the luggage that contains all our clothes and when i say all, i mean all.our.clothes.

so ruth, i’m in your town. not enjoying it and so wanting to be somewhere else. but i’m sure that in any other situation i’d be lovin’ it.

  2. That is sooooo gross but as mom’s we choose our battles wisely and tm and I choose to fight battles over safety more often than anything!

    Miss you guys!

  3. wow! sorry i keep saying that I am guessing that m isnt on his way to singapore as planned due to this little mess. you can cry or laugh I would choose to laugh! love you all. by the way imagine my surprise when I received a package from you with all my precious photos of my dear dad in the mail. it took me a while but i recall you were going to make a scrapbook for me before you decided to stop doing that. thanks for taking the time (which I know you did not have) to send them before you left they are so precious to me. as always thinking of others even in the midst of all the craziness.

  4. OMG! I got home from work at 9:45pm tonight. Am just now reading this – 11:36pm! I live about 25 minutes from LAX, and think Not Goth is near as well. Do you want me to bring you some fresh clothes? What are you doing Saturday? I’ll check my email in the a.m. to see what you’re up to. My car won’t fit the whole Transplanting family – but gosh, I hate the idea of you stuck at the airport all day after your hotel check out….. let me know what you’re up to.

  5. Sounds like I read this a day too late!! Oh, Man! Which means that you probably flew out of LA on Friday night? I missed you! That’s it, I’ll have to visit your new home once your settled. I’m getting my passport pronto. 🙂

  6. I’m really sorry I only just read this – I have been MIA with friends in town.. had I known I would have happily helped you guys out.. we could have got you all at least our flat floor which I hope is less gross than LAX airport floor.
