too good to be true

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
more than i was told
labor not estimated
too good to be true
i still can’t complain
labor was twenty dollars
house call included
no longer stranded
four wheels at my beck and call
but nowhere to go
  1. And still, it would be great to just go ANYWHERE right now. Because you can!
    Great haiku!
    exactly!!!
  2. Glad to hear it wasn’t completely horrible, and just knowing you have wheels is a a good thing, whether you have anywhere to go or not. Funny how that is, but it is. ;)
    very true. i can go refill our water bottles and to the grocery store – the kids will be relieved
    Twenty dollars??? Wow! I can’t even imagine what that would have cost stateside. Twenty dollars wouldn’t even cover them coming to the house. I’m sure your weekend is looking up.
    Hope you’ve been able to pick up some olympic coverage, we’ve done great. I don’t even watch sports any other time, but I love the olympics.
    i know. i was thinking that too – i can’t even imagine them coming to the house at all in the states!!
    i’ve seen some olympics, but not much. doing more reading about them than anything.
    Well, that doesn’t sound too bad as far as price goes.
    i know, it is fantastic!! and i’m quite thankful!
  5. Honey Mommy says:
    Last week I was stranded too… but mine wasn’t a repair problem! My son stole my keys and hid them from me… it took me SIX days to find them. Silly boy.
    Go do something fun!
    Thanks for stopping by my blog!
    how frustrating!! i was almost 4 days – another 2 might have done me in!
  6. Patsy says:
    It’s always more than we are told! Glad you have wheels again.
    but i really can’t complain. or at least i shouldn’t ;)
  7. Mariposa says:
    C’mon…there must be a place to go…
    Happy Friday!
    tomorrow i plan to find a place – even if it’s just the coffee shop!
  8. Sarah says:
    Might have been too good to be true, but $20 for labor? I only get that if my dad’s doing the work, and if I force the $20 into his glove compartment when he’s not looking ;)
    *w00t*
    No more strandedness!!
    aren’t dad’s the best??
  9. Erin says:
    At first I thought you were talking about having a baby!
    that made me laugh!! i went and read it and can totally see it!
  10. Cathy says:
    There’s nothing worse than being stranded–eventually you’ll think of a place to go! :)
    sad thing is, eventually i won’t have to think of one…
  11. Joyce T. says:
    Glad you have your transportation, for when you need it. :)
    me too. not having certainly caused a sense of loss of control. and i don’t do well with that
  12. Kathryn says:
    Sounds like you’ve gotten used to not having wheels. ;)
    alternate transportation is easy to come by here. i would love to be able to depend on it all the time!!
  13. storyteller says:
    I’m glad it all worked out for you. Nicely K’ud ;–)
    Thanks for dropping by my ‘wispy’ clouds at Sacred Ruminations earlier. You’re probably right about your brother’s skies being similar … I’m about 100 miles north of San Diego in Orange County.
    Hugs and blessings,
    beautiful sky!!
    Well haiku’d. I think you would have to add two zeroes to the end of that price to have that done here in San Diego and you would have to figure out how to get the broken car to them and then have to figure out how to get home.
    My car only breaks when I have somewhere to go. If its in tip-top shape I must be out of town without it.
    the whole house call thing amazes me and then the taking my husband to the airport at 5am the next morning because we were carless part – that’s just wow!
