color blind

every year they do eye exams at school and every year we are mailed the results and every year the results are the same for ff – color deficiency. this year i decided to see exactly what that meant. today we went to the eye doctor. here’s what i learned…

this is what a person with no color deficiency sees

and this is more or less what ff sees

i think he must see the shades a little better than this… when you ask him a color he can usually tell you what it is, but it seems that his red isn’t our red and his orange isn’t our orange, etc… he can thank his great-granddad for this gift.

i wonder if i can use “he’s color blind” as an excuse for his telling the teacher, “maybe you just need to be quiet”

“i wonder if i can use “he’s color blind” as an excuse for his telling the teacher, “maybe you just need to be quiet”” . . . . YES!! THIS is why you’re so fabulously entertaining. . . . how’s it going w/ the “water only” rule w/ the other teacher?

  2. she caved. since aly broke the rule and another student in the class had her brother bring a drink she came up with another solution. they can bring drinks, but they have to take them out of their lunch boxes and put them in a different basket. and then they can collect them when they go to lunch. now i have to convince aly that i’m not all that. she’s fairly certain i can fix anything she doesn’t like because i’m on the board at the school. we’re working on that
