Okay so I decided I was up for a challenge and since this is my favorite kind (you know-the kind where if I fail I can just hit delete and no one is any the wiser about my intelligence) I am going to give it a go.

Step 1: Select the site. That part is pretty much done-Thailand. You are taking care of testing the space by having bh send photos and doing the required Starbucks research.

Step 2: Dig the hole. Well I should hope you would be ble to find a place to set out roots that is at least 2 to 3 times larger than you!

Step 3: Dormant, hmmm..... Does that mean when the majority of your family has finished school and other activities for the summer maybe?!? I think I'll go with that.

Step 4: Mark the tree to face the sun. Here we will replace one word with a homonym (sp?) Mark yourself to face the son. (See you have already done this one too!)

Step 5: Pack up your self and your family with as muchof your culture and heritage as possbile being sure to wrap well to prevent any damage.

Step 6: I am a firm believer in moving as large a root ball as possible. See step 5.

Step 7: This step goes along with 5 and 6. All I would add here is to take care of yourself and dose frequently with large amounts of caffeine and chocolate.

Step 8: Plant yourself in your new domicile quickly. Do not live with boxes and crates for too long as this will wear on your sense of being firmly established.

Step 9: Don't try to become immersed in the culture too quickly. Cook regular meals from "home" and blog, email, etc. friends and family regularly.

Step 10: Pray, read, write-do things you love frequently, especially in the first year. This will help any damaged roots to heal quickly and will promote growth.

Warnings: Obviously the little ones will adapt and overcome transplantation more quickly. Be flexible. Complain when you need to. Drink lots of coffee. Eat lots of chocolate. Know that as well as missing home you are missed by all that love you!

Monica,
I'm going to miss you all! But, I know you guys know what you are doing and you can do this. I'll be here in CO waiting patiently for your return. Dale is jealous! I'm good at the long distance friendships, I will miss our Starbucks and Sushi get togethers! I will pray for you!

I can't tell you what a great friend you have meant to me all these years. Always been a great adventure of our friendship, what's one more?

love, Sherilyn

Ok Monica from a Mans perspective. #1 Dont let Michael transplant the tree..#2 We all look big in Asia. #3 You are equipped to handle this. 2 Corinthians 12:9, My grace is sufficient for you,for my power is made perfect in weakness.
Let go of the wheel and enjoy the adventure....
